PRESENTER: Matt Ohrt – Merrill Steel
Matt started his career in the auto manufacturing industry with Tenneco Automotive, a tier-one Toyota supplier, then transitioned to Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Georgetown, KY. In Georgetown, he had the opportunity to experience first-hand the Toyota Production System (TPS) and their unique approach to Human Resources. Additional experience includes time with Badger Mining Corporation as Director of Team and Culture, and at Ariens Company as Director, People and Culture. Currently, he is at Merrill Steel in Schofield, serving as the Director of Human Resources.
Matt’s educational background includes an AS degree from Highland Community College, a BS degree in Psychology from Western Illinois University and a MA degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Tulsa. Additionally, Matt holds a Lean Manufacturing Certification from the University of Michigan, is Six Sigma Black Belt, a Hapkido Martial Arts Black Belt and is a graduate of Zappos Culture Camp.
