Lakeside Manufacturing on an annual basis exceeds national and regional manufacturing norms in terms of engagement and turnover. (Based on MRA engagement and satisfaction survey conducted company wide) With a turnover rate at 5% or less, we will discuss the leadership models that we utilize as well as follower models. Leading our people is about knowing who they are and what levels of commitment we are receiving from them.
We will discuss how we learn this information and what to do with it. Finally we will discuss how generational challenges are changing everything we used to think we knew about leadership.

Matt Miller, Senior Director of Manufacturing, Lakeside Manufacturing, Inc.
Matt served 20 years as a Marine Corps officer, leading Marines in the most strenuous environments in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He retired in June 2014, brought his experience and knowledge to Lakeside, and has changed the culture and engagement that has resulted in significant improvements to both productivity and retention. He now serves as the Senior Director of Manufacturing at Lakeside and has been a part of the Optima Consortium since arriving at Lakeside. He holds a BS in Political Science and a Masters Certificate in Lean Leadership, Organizational Leadership and Lean Six Sigma. In addition, he is currently pursuing his MBA.
