Why do all companies need a Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) process? How does it drive engagement and development of your employees? Can a healthy MDI process drive results in safety, quality, and productivity? The answer to these and other questions will be answered in this session. An MDI process is a way of driving daily incremental improvements to process by using a cross-functional team. It uses a series of daily and weekly cascading meetings at various levels of your organization to bring focus to problems and opportunities that otherwise cause performance gaps and lead to employee moral issues. It uses visual boards to drive communication, clear priorities and assignment of ownership at the right level in the organization.

Joe Oberbroeckling, Continuous Improvement Leader, Johnsonville Sausage
Joe is Continuous Improvement Leader at Johnsonville Sausage. He is responsible for all of the CI activities at Johnsonville’s largest facility in Sheboygan Falls, WI. He’s been doing CI or Operations Leadership for the past 18 years both at Johnsonville and other manufacturing companies. His passion is cross-functional team facilitation and helping teams uncover opportunities and driving root cause and corrective action. He’s been learning and applying the MDI process over the past 5 years and will be able to share his experiences around what works and what doesn’t. He and his wife have four boys and he enjoys coaching basketball, golf and being a father.
