Endullment is the opposite of engagement. Endullment comes from education literature and means the dulling of people’s minds through lack of intellectual participation.
So, most of us have to work everyday. Some of us deal with mind-numbing repetitive tasks, endless hours producing reports that nobody reads, conflicting priorities, pencil whip compliance processes, poorly defined roles and responsibilities and cultures of fear to make a mistake all contribute to the endullment of employees. So here’s a real challenge, – what are we doing to alleviate endullment in our workplaces? What can leaders do to stop killing their organizations?
