Get an inside look at the continuous improvement best practices Werner Electric Supply and Ariens Company implement within their state-of-the-art facilities! Participants will also network with cross-industry peers and interact with Mike Hoseus, the Executive Director of the Center for Quality People & Organizations, a former manufacturing and human resources leader for Toyota, and co-author of Toyota Culture: The Heart and Soul of the Toyota Way.
The Wisconsin Benchmarking Tour will kick off the afternoon of October 4th at Werner Electric Supply’s 200,000 square-foot warehouse in Appleton. Built in 2016, the warehouse is home to everything from nuts and bolts to 20-foot conduit lengths, and giant reels of wire for the electrical supply business. We’ll get a close look at the custom pick module, warehouse design, and warehouse management system that provide Werner with a competitive advantage.
On October 5th, we’ll spend the entire day at Ariens Company in Brillion. Our first stop will be the Ariens Training Academy, followed by two plant tours. In addition to excelling in Lean manufacturing, Ariens Company recently added AriensCo Hospitality to its portfolio. AriensCo Hospitality manages three event venues, including Round Lake Farms, where our tour group will enjoy lunch with a stunning view.
Throughout the Wisconsin Benchmarking Tour, Lean management expert Mike Hoseus will spend time sharing his experiences while facilitating thought-provoking dialogue on Lean leadership and Lean work systems. He’ll also participate in the plant tours, providing insightful commentary as we observe the principles of high-performance cultures. Participants will leave ready to form their own individual and organizational action plans designed to take your continuous improvement and Lean journey to the next level.
