Optima Associates Hires Tom Groth as Continuous Improvement Leader

Industry veteran to lead Optima’s southern Wisconsin peer groups

DE PERE, Wis., Jan. 14, 2020 – Optima Associates, a market leader in continuous improvement peer groups, training and consulting with clients globally, has hired Tom Groth as its continuous improvement leader based in Madison, Wis.

Groth has more than 30 years of experience in continuous improvement, project management, new product development and training. He is leading Optima’s Continuous Improvement Alliance in the greater Madison and Milwaukee areas. Groth comes to Optima from Alliant Energy and has also held leadership roles at Kimberly-Clark, CUNA Mutual Group, Covance and Thermo Fisher Scientific.

“Optima has been helping manufacturing and service companies with continuous improvement training and consulting for more than 16 years,” said Steve Hirt, president of Optima Associates. “Tom’s experience and dedication to continuous improvement make him the perfect choice to help Continuous Improvement Alliance members establish peer-to-peer relationships, learn best practices and share ideas,” added Hirt.

Groth has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Lakeland College and a master’s certificate in project management from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He and his wife live in Madison and have two grown children.

Optima will offer a series of continuous improvement and new product development events throughout 2020, including:

  • January 21 at Bruno Independent Living Aids in Oconomowoc, Wis.
  • January 22 at LaForce in Green Bay, Wis.
  • January 23 at Chr. Hansen in Milwaukee, Wis.
  • February 5 at Miller Electric in Appleton, Wis.
